Harry Arter Reactions

Nathan Walker

“Back and forth more times than Ross and Rachel in ‘Friends’, this could be one of the key transfers that determine Cardiff’s fate this season. He has Premier League experience which is something City were severely lacking in and I’m sure he’s going to be highly involved in all aspects of the team’s play, I have no doubt he’ll endear himself to the crowd in no time at all.”

“I think this has been a really good window for the City and getting Arter through the door is really the icing on the cake.

“In true transfer deadline day fashion, we were never quite sure whether it’d get done but I’m glad it has. Arter has quality and is definitely a Premier League player, something you could argue we’ve lacked. Brilliant signing.”

Ben James

“There’s no doubt that Arter is a Warnock player. Hard working, tenacious, a real warrior. He’s been a class act for Bournemouth over the past few years and I’m surprised that they seem willing to let him go. He’s been a key player as Bournemouth have consolidated then grown in the Premier League.

“He’ll bring dogged spirit to our midfield as well as Premier League experience and he absolutely knows his way around this league. This really is a great way to round off the transfer window – Warnock has overseen some brilliant business and this is perfect way to end of a hectic couple of weeks.’

“Signing Arter would help to placate the significant section of the bluebirds who have been desperate to see a midfielder with Premier League experience.

“Typically a Warnock player blessed with bags of energy and a wonderful delivery this may just be the final piece of the jigsaw for this seasons summer transfer window.

“Overall this is a real sign of intent from the bluebirds and something of a coup for a newly promoted team desperately trying to make their mark in the world’s most celebrated league.”

Ben Isaacs

“Hard-working players like Arter are a perfect fit for a Warnock side so there’s no reason to think he won’t be a success for City. It took a while to get it done but what matters is it’s finally happened. Arter has grafted in lower divisions and even at non-league level and has the energy of a player who genuinely appreciates the fact he’s playing top flight football.

“If City are to stay up, you can imagine that the likes of Arter putting in the hard yards will be crucial. I think Eddie Howe is making a mistake letting him leave, but Cardiff fans should be relishing Arter getting stuck in as a Bluebird.”

“I think the signing of Harry Arter just about salvages a torrid few weeks in the transfer market. After Impressive early moves, nothing for six weeks has put everyone on edge, but Arter was definitely worth the wait. Every inch a Warnock signing, he’s a destroyer, very aggressive and will run all day. I think he will be a real hit with Cardiff fans. He’s pretty much Ralls and Gunnarsson combined and immediately makes a slightly lightweight looking midfield much more heft.

“Very much the right signing at the right time. Phew.”
