Neil Etheridge
http://gty.im/1054275412
Could do nothing against sublime finishing by one of the best attacking teams in the World. Liverpool are top of the Premier League, but how the men in front of Etheridge battled. Bring on Jamie Vardy and Co 6
Man of the match – Bruno Manga
http://gty.im/1054193028
Immense. Playing out off position, like Paterson in attack, and also giving it everything he has. A quality footballer who looks Premier quality and he’s settling neatly into that right-back role. Manga was outstanding 7
Sean Morrison (capt)
http://gty.im/1054275584
Brilliant goal-line clearance from Llallana’s close range header, dramatically stopping the Liverpool man’s celebrations. Mozza is a leader, a competitive spirit and his players gathered around him and defied Liverpool. The scoreline does not reflect the effort put in 6
Sol Bamba
http://gty.im/1054275974
Failed to clear before Liverpool’s first goal – miscued his effort and Sala scored. Bamba did force the ball over the line following a corner, but Morrison was offside when he headed back across goal 5
Joe Bennett
http://gty.im/1054276272
A good operator at left-back. Clashed with Salah a few times and in their one-to-one clashes it was fairly even – they sent each other sprawling in separate incidents – but ‘Pool were convincing winners 7
Junior Hoilett
http://gty.im/1054202386
Called in when Arter, who has been booked four times and is one caution away from a ban, was rested. The Bournemouth loanee has a minor muscle injury, but it was the right decision to sit him out. Arter will be a key player v Leicester at home 5
Aron Gunnarsson
http://gty.im/1054272974
What a warrior. Gunnar gave 77 minutes during the win v Fulham after only two training sessions and was ready to start again. This time he lasted 73 minutes. Adds a steely, box-to-box edge in midfield. I have massive respect for the man 7
Victor Camarasa
http://gty.im/1054267098
Linked with Gunnarsson in central midfield and then Damour when he went on. The Spanish ace is City’s best pure footballer at the heart of their team and his input against Leicester and Brighton will be crucial 6
Josh Murphy
http://gty.im/1054275244
The home team pulled Cardiff out of shape by pushing Alexander-Arnold forward down the right. Murphy had to follow him and that effectively stopped him creating during the first half. Took a blow to his ankle and limped off with Kadeem Harris taking over. I just hope it’s not serious – Murphy is crucial to Warnock’s team 6
Bobby Decordova-Reid
http://gty.im/1054273904
A Liverpool fan. Bobby’s family were at Anfield to see his first appearance at the stadium. Played in an attacking midfield role, dropping back into the five and then darting forward to support centre-forward Paterson 6
Callum Paterson
http://gty.im/1054279896
The Scot has done a sterling job in attack. Personally, I would have thrown Zohore, a more natural attack leader. into this one, but fair play Paterson scored City’s goal. Whatever you ask him to do, the boy gives it everything he has 7
