Player Ratings – Cardiff City 2, Wolves 1

Neil Etheridge

He’s done a terrific job for the Bluebirds this season, but I am slightly concerned at what happens when he heads off for international duty with the Philippines in January. Alex Smithies will step up, but he will be badly out of Premier League match sharpness 7

Bruno Manga

http://gty.im/1066906370

Another square peg in a round hole. I can’t fault Manga because, like Paterson, he has been asked to do a job and is a pretty fair player at right-back. But he is a high quality centre-back. Get him back in the middle 6

Sean Morrison (capt)

http://gty.im/1066905892

A leader who is the right choice as captain. The man puts heart and should into every performance. A guy who cares about the Bluebirds – and is a key player in the battle for survival 6

Sol Bamba

http://gty.im/1066875462

Big Sol is, and always will be, among my favourite players. Maybe I should be unbiased, but the guys is a family man who has time for Bluebirds fans. He is also a defender you can rely on 6

Man of the Match – Aron Gunnarsson

http://gty.im/1066907142

Calm and composed when he scored the equaliser. ’Gunnar’ signed for the Bluebirds seven years ago, during the same month as Ralls. He has been a huge success in that time and is one of the players you need alongside you in the Premier battle. Hugely experienced – and that long throw is still a major weapon 7

Victor Camarasa

http://gty.im/1066904640

I love watching the Spanish playmaker and he will keep improving over the season. He has a completely different role at Cardiff than he was asked to fill at Real Betis. At 24-years-old he has big potential 6

Joe Ralls

http://gty.im/1066971408

I’ve known Rallsy for seven years, since he made the move to Cardiff as a teenager. He has made close to 200 first team appearances and has established himself at Premier level. Now he needs to harness that intensity and competitive spirit to kick on 6

Harry Arter

http://gty.im/1066906522

Harry has to be at the ‘Art’ of everything and hit a post with his magnificent volley, but maybe he needs more help through the middle. Camarasa is a playmaker with quality, while Ralls and Gunnarsson give everything in the cause. If only the Bluebirds could find a high end Premier midfield player in January. The competition would be excellent 7

Junior Hoilett

http://gty.im/1066906418

What a strike! It was good to see the Canadian playmaker back in the starting line-up, but he took time to make an impact. When he did it was sensational. A class act on his day – and showed it when he smashed Cardiff’s second goal into the far corner. Magnificent 7

Callum Paterson

http://gty.im/1066919456

I feel for the committed Scot. He is being asked to lead City’s attack and it’s too much. He has done a cracking job so far given that he’s playing out of position, but he is having to learn the nuances of playing at centre-forward. It’s too much to ask in the top tier 6

Josh Murphy

http://gty.im/1066878770

City’s most dangerous attacking player. He is going to be a big hit at Premier level, an uncut diamond who has the ability to improve. Defender Conor Coady had a torrid time trying to stop him 7
