Player Ratings – Everton 1, Cardiff City 0

Neil Etheridge

Everton had 71 per cent possession according to the stats, but the home team rarely tested the Cardiff ‘keeper. Booking for time wasting just before half-time and had no chance with Sigurdsson’s winner 7

Man of the Match – Bruno Manga

http://gty.im/1064749306

Personally, I am still not comfortable seeing the Gabon international at right-back, but he keeps producing quality performances and proving me wrong. He is an excellent centre-half and that’s where he may play later in the season 8

Sean Morrison (capt)

http://gty.im/1064749258

Suffered broken nose last time out, but was fit and firing at Goodison. Solid alongside the excellent Bamba and added a potent threat when he went forward for set pieces 6

Sol Bamba

http://gty.im/1064772178

When Sol is in this form he is a high end Premier defender. Won his aerial duels, made a number of crucial interceptions and cleared one Sigurdsson effort off the line 8

Gregg Cunningham

http://gty.im/1064741222

Has slotted in at left-back ahead of Joe Bennett. That was a surprise to me, but he was more than a match for Seamus Coleman and Theo Walcott down that side. Powered forward when he could and might have had a penalty when Coleman brought him down 7

Joe Ralls

http://gty.im/1064806616

You always know what you will get from Ralls. He is a 100 per cent player who will do everything possible for his team. This wasn’t Rallsy at his best, but he gave everything in the cause 5

Victor Camarasa

http://gty.im/1064752060

The Spanish playmaker has more to give. He works for the team, but is perhaps still adjusting to the bigger role he plays for Cardiff. He is going to grow into the job he does 5

Aron Gunnarsson

http://gty.im/1064771266

Clashed with close pal Sigurdsson and came out on the wrong end of their match-up. Gunnar is a huge competitor, but this was not one of his best performances 6

Harry Arter

http://gty.im/1071917760

Back in the team after saving a one-game suspension. Adds energy, aggression and quality to the team. He is going to be a crucial player for City over the rest of this season 6

Kadeem Harris

http://gty.im/1064735220

The young winger has had a terrific season and has edged ahead of Junior Hoilett and Josh Murphy in the current pecking order. Has pace to burn, but there were few chances to use that against Everton 5

Callum Paterson

http://gty.im/1071918184

The effervescent Scot is a fantastic player to have in the squad. He isn’t a natural centre-forward, but, boy, does he give everything. Lived on scraps, but almost scored from a late header 6
